ATU-Net Student Leader Forum 2021
“The Future We Want: Priorities of SDG-Engaged Community”
ATU-Net Student Leader Forum (SeLF) is an annual and signature programme of the Asia Technological University Network (ATU-Net), which was inaugurated in 2020.
Aim:
It aims to bring together youth and student leaders from member institutions of the Asia Technological University Network (ATU-Net) and beyond to share their knowledge and learn from one another, to strengthen their regional bond, and form a shared global identity. It will provide opportunities for participants to dissect and deliberate on the current societal crisis and the prospect of the future. In particular, it will concentrate on the key roles of youth in shaping the narrative of today’s world, through guided vision and design-led leadership for the benefit and prosperity of the lives of others.
Objectives:
1. Participants will be able to interact and engage with youth and student leaders across the network and beyond.
2. Participants will be able to learn about new developments in various areas where youth are concerned.
3. Participants will be able to discuss issues and share best practices pertaining to youth and student leaders.
Theme:
ATU-Net SeLF 2021 seeks to inspire leadership and actions on SDGs among youth and student leaders with the theme of: The Future We Want: Priorities of SDG-Engaged Community.
Viewing sustainable development as three overlapping dimensions, environmental, economic and social sustainability, with human welfare and well-being at its heart, the two-day programme will
help reaffirm our commitment to the 2030 Agenda and its Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
concentrate on priorities, opportunities and gaps of SDG-engaged community
underline the role of global networks and cooperation which are the basis for sustainable development and the future of higher education
showcase experiences and examples of practice on campus, in curricula, and at the whole institution, and community
discuss how students’ actions on SDGs could be better recognised, connected and amplified
